Don’t Hate, Appreciate!

“There was once a man who was complaining about having one pair of shoes until he met a man with only one leg.”

Why is even there a need to hate someone when all you can do is just appreciate?

There was a period along with my journey when people were actually throwing a lot of negative comments on me, I had actually burdened myself so much that I was not able to fulfil my own task list. Pending blogs, pending shoot projects and what not. So, after all, that was happening to me, I was genuinely in a state of depression. I was so jumbled up, so confused and burn out and that the originality and the authenticity of my content were actually lacking and I must admit that a fear came over me. I was actually losing my touch on writing, creative concepts and humility.

I guess I forgot to acknowledge that even I’m a human being, right? I had just realized by that time that I had a big hole in my living. I forgot to stand still and get into a state of appreciation.

I was hating each and every minute of my life as that struggle actually broke me down into pieces. But what happened after that? Did I remain the same? Did I put those pieces back? Of course, I did. Am I happy now? Of course, I’m.  But you must be wondering how?

Two of the best concepts came over and changed the way I was living with all the mess that I had created and they were – “Find the solution and the appreciation list”.

 

  • FIND THE SOLUTION –

 

It’s not easy for someone to break the jail so easily as it requires patience and will to do. Find the solution has been one of the key concepts which I had taken into action when nothing was working out for me. Hatred is such a negative sphere that it can actually turn your chair and throw you on the ground. But how to tackle it? Next time when someone asks you for a help or in need, just tell him ‘Find the solution’.

We, humans, are so intricate that we focus all our energy on a singular thing when the circumstances aren’t on point. This simply means we tend to revolve our whole life for a stupid thing which is not even beneficial to our development. We see our problems with a magnifying glass which actually makes it bigger than it actually was before.

Every problem has a solution to it. If one of the doors is not opening, that doesn’t mean you have to keep banging your head. Try a different method and it might open for you.

 

  • STATE OF APPRECIATION –

 

 

A wise man never dwells on what he doesn’t have. He remains in constant appreciation of what he has already while being in pursuit of what he really wants.

The only thing that can actually fulfil us is gratitude – acknowledging and appreciating the beauty of what we have and what we want. When I ask people about what is actually important to them in their lives, I have always recorded the same answer – friends, family, faith and what not. Would you agree?

We search around for happiness in the dark and didn’t realize the fact that it has been with us for our whole life.

 

 

Wait, I have a solution –  Write a list. Whatever makes the list is a priority, and make reading the list a part of your daily routine. Appreciation is the ultimate feeling, as it is the only thing that reduces the ego from the body. This simple quality is again one of the essential parameters for success. It truly helps us enjoy the process of success because we go in with the attitude of “nothing to lose, everything to gain” and the courage follows up.

After you have made up the list, do read the list as soon as you wake up. Do this for a week, for a month or up to you. I have been doing this for a week and I have been feeling a lot of positivity in every area of living. When we complain, we become the victim. When we are the victims, we don’t get what we want in our life, we get more of what we don’t want.

You have the power to choose, you have the power to appreciate and you have the power to become the best version of yourself!

How To Become The Best Version Of Yourself?

You are here in this world for three main reasons. The first one is to experience as many different things as possible and enjoy life to the full. The second one is to create, contribute, share, and leave a positive legacy behind.

And the third reason why you’re here on this planet is to improve, evolve, grow and become the best version of yourself.

 

 

Another day, another blog post and another story which might trail down to motivate you in some way or the other.

Before sleeping and after waking up, do ask this question to yourself that ‘what kind of person do you want to be?’

I mean everybody wants to be rich, wants to have a good lifestyle and most importantly ‘have it all’.

With time, I have noticed three ugly qualities that resist a human to become his/her best version and that is –

  • Greed
  • Vanity
  • Addiction

 

  • Having It All –

I have actually come across people who have a tendency of equating their success with ‘having it all’, but this can end up a slippery slope. The appetite for success develops into greed.

 

 

I have met many bloggers and influencers who were unhappy, negative people. It surprised me because It looked like they had it all. But deep down they hadn’t done the work of figuring out what kind of person they wanted to be.

Let me ask you the same question again, What kind of person do you want to be? 

  • Vanity –

Living in a culture of entertainment and celebrities, a lot of people succumb to vanity. I mean we all want to look good, isn’t it?

 

 

Recently, I was just passing from a gym and saw a man with a good built, shaved legs and ripped. I don’t know but after having all that which we humans consider as ‘perfect’, I found that man to be very unhappy. You know what the problem is? We spend an enormous amount of time, energy and money in improving our looks and developing our character.

Becoming the best version of yourself is far away from just sculpted muscles, waxed chests and whitened teeth. It requires intellectual enrichment, empathy, sacrifice for others and the most important quality – Kindness!

 

  • All things in Moderation –

 

 

Perhaps, more than vanity and greed, addiction account for the grief in most people lives. The problem is that we like some things way too much. We pursue them at all costs and become addicted.

Living in a country like India where addictions are just accounted for drinking alcohol and sexual misbehaviour, there are so many other addictions out there which are neglected –  Social media addiction, food addiction, addiction to drama, even healthy pursuits like fitness can become a destructive addiction.

 

 

Addictions can be treated. Simply ask yourself what kind of person you want to be? The answer will come to you and then what? Begin the process right away. You can always make changes and become the best version.

No matter who you’re, no matter what you did, no matter where you’ve come from, you can always change and become a better version of yourself!

What I Do When I Can’t Focus

Are you struggling to finish your tasks? Are you always distracted by notifications, gossiping, or anything that’s random?

 

 

In that case, you and I are alike. And you know what? Focusing on a single thing is probably one of the hardest things at work.

There’s always something that interrupts you, right?

  • Another person
  • A phone call
  • A meeting
  • A false emergency

Sure, you can blame on these things but that’s weak. You and I, we both know that things can’t interrupt you without your permission. And that simply means that every time you’re not focused, you’re simply giving someone or something the permission to invade your mind.

Scary, isn’t it?

Your life will never benefit just by looking at Instagram or Facebook, watching useless Youtube videos and reading negative articles.

 

 

So, what can you do to improve your focus? Here, are 2 things that I always do when I find myself not being able to focus on what really matters to me.

  • ELIMINATE – 

Every day, we accumulate stuff. We accumulate ideas. It’s the human tendency to make the ideas which are exposed openly as their own. Funny, isn’t it? Have you ever thought about that?

 

 

Okay, so let me take up my own example here. Being a writer, I constantly observe so many things around me on a regular basis. People actually come up and give me n number of ideas which I actually appreciate and one such idea was of starting a YouTube Channel. I built the strategy, I worked on creating a model for it. But there was just problem –  It consumes too much of my time and attention and as a consequence of it, I have to spend less time on writing and creating new articles. I thought of doing only that thing in which my time was fruitfully strategized and organized and that’s how eliminating comes into place. Eliminating is a key strategy that I use in many aspects of my life and so want you to focus on.

It’s important to figure out what you need to eliminate from your lives to make it completely organized, simple and that it’s easy to focus on?

If you’re struggling with focusing your mind on a single thing, try this strategy. Make your life simple and that’s a breeze to live.

  •  THINK ABOUT YOUR PAST SUCCESS- 

 

 

So, 2017 was actually the best year of my life as my passion for working as a writer came into existence and that’s how I started with my own blogging website. It’s never easy to step forward and take critics and that’s what helped me to grow – as a person and as a writer. The life of a blogger starts with the booming stats in the first six months but what after a year or so when the audience gets bored with your creative content? That’s where you have to start with your next strategy!

All you need to do is remember all those positive events that happened in the past. That’s a strategy to overcome your cold phases and runs a stream of positive energy levels in your blood.

Have you ever heard of the neurotransmitter, Serotonin? Serotonin is present on the right side of the brain and is responsible for all your emotional and creative nature. To improve your focus, boost your serotonin activity. When serotonin goes up, your focus goes up. Ultimately, that’s what you should do.

When I can’t focus, the first thing I do is acknowledge the problem and the solution required to correct that problem. Some people go through life without even acknowledging they have problems.

Focus on your life. Think about what matters to you. Do those things and don’t get distracted. Learn to stay on the path!

Inner Peace Is The New Success!

 Happiness is the new rich. Inner peace is a new success. Health is a new wealth. Kindness is the new cool!

 

Unflappable? That is such a wonderfully descriptive word. A person is said to be unflappable if he/she potentially has or shows calmness in a situation of crisis. I have known some truly unflappable people. They discharge an inner calmness even in the hardest circumstances. They are the ones who are fully present with everyone, gentle and possess a positive attitude towards life.

 

 

So many of us exist in a cloud of internal and external chaos.

With such an over-scheduled and preoccupied lifestyle, it is difficult to relax and enjoy life with all of the distractions and cold phases.

 

What is meant by Inner Peace?

 

 

Inner peace is more about being than doing. It’s all about learning to correct and not struggling against. It’s about being focused in the present and not dwelling in the chapters of the past or the dreams of the future. The rewards of inner peace are numerous. It all includes mental and physical well being of an individual, self-confidence and more intense and more joyful experience.

 

How to attain Inner Peace?

 

 

  • Have nothing unresolved –

Resolving your professional and personal matters are necessary as it withdraws energy gets you numb and broken. It’s better to make short-term schedules and keep the things sorted.

 

  • Surrender and accept what it is –

Accepting your failures are much more important than enjoying your success. The one who surrenders and accepts will never make the same mistake again. Rather than resisting and fighting, stop struggling. Resisting blocks energy and creativity.

 

  • Take full responsibility for how you react to others –

You choose your behaviour and you decide what you want to be in all circumstances. Plan for being a calm and unflappable person.

 

  • Become aware of and sensitive to feelings rather than ignoring them –

These feelings can turn out to be a big gut vibes in your day to day and even in your business. Never ignore these feelings as it might turn your struggle into the fortune. Be aware of what’s running inside your head. Become aware of your internal environment.

 

  • Know your higher self –

The only person who knows what you’re capable of doing, capable of producing is just you. Know your goals, understand them, implement what’s necessary at the right time and at the right moment.

 

  • Prioritize peace ahead of performance –

Setting up our priority list is what we all have been doing after puberty but how about keeping ‘peace’ in the first place? Try and find out yourself!

 

How can Inner Peace lead us to a successful life?

 

 

We all are running in the quest for a happy life which is full of freedom and security. The search for happiness and a successful life is one of the most common goals to everyone. Life is full of challenges. For an instance, rather than thinking of them as a reason to give up just think of them as a source of knowledge and experience. Failures teach us more than what success could. With experience comes wisdom, more positivity towards achieving something, stability and productivity automatically enhances.

With inner peace comes Introspection, self-control and self-improvement. Introspection is having a knowledge of your own thoughts and emotions. Introspection is like a lantern, it might provide light, but it doesn’t guarantee to make you see the things.

There are no limits. All you have to keep in mind is to control your mind from all the negativity trying to attack you.

Self-Improvement is what means to build yourself, to train your mind and improve and nourish your character and attitude towards living.

With a peaceful mind, the success rate automatically doubles.

 

Few tips and tricks for lasting happiness!

 

 

If you do any or all of these things a little more often than you currently do, yes you can find your life to be less stressful, more meaningful, happier, wealthier and healthier.

How much? Depends on how often you do them. Maybe 5% or 5000%?

Let’s find out what they are –

  • Schedule time to hang out with your 5-15 best friends.
  • Say ‘thank you’ literally everytime you think you should.
  • Help people achieve their goals.
  • Every six months make sure to identify what you’d like to do in the next six months or so.
  • Eat food that you love to eat.
  • Do things you enjoy doing.
  • Schedule something to look forward to.
  • Exercise
  • Document your progress.
  • Keep in regular touch with your close friends.
  • Worship or meditate or practice yoga.
  • At night, write down one thing you’d like to do the next day.
  • Try new things.
  • Be kind to others.
  • Forgive people.
  • Celebrate others success.
  • Reward yourself for every small milestone achievement.

These were the few practical tricks you can do to everlasting happiness.

The Dreamer!

It all starts with an ambition to do something, that hungriness to do something big. It all starts with a dream, a dream full of vision and outcomes. There are many talented people who haven’t fulfilled their dreams because they over thought it or were too cautious about the audacity and ultimately unwilling to make that leap of faith. Are you feeling something relatable?

 

 

When I meet people, I can often figure out whether the person is going to do something or just flirting with the idea. Those who carry their idea to execution are actually the ones who are single-mindedly focused on creating it. You and only you know when the idea will be ripe and when do you have to eat it. A half-baked cake will never be as tasty as a hot chocolate fudge provided, you need to have patience when you’re working on your dreams. No successful person has achieved fame and wealth overnight.

 

 

What do you actually mean by a desire and a dream? Dr Abdul Kalam has very well quoted “ A dream is not something which you see while sleeping but it is something which doesn’t allow you to sleep!”.

Overcome Overthinking!

Drifting away with the wind, blown up by the immense stress, unaware of what’s happening around, mind block getting down on your veins, things not rolling into your place and that’s how I can sum up the life of our adults – broke, unstable and insatiable!

 

 

Overthinking and anxiety go hand in hand. It can stop you from enjoying your social events, disturb your sleep, undermine your job performance and what not so typically, overthinking can make you leave not only mentally disturbed but exhausted. Trust me, it can actually get your walls down. So, this blog post is for all those who have a habit of overthinking and constant anxiety issues.

What is Overthinking?

 

 

Overthinking is actually “under-thinking”. It is basically the repetition of obsessive, non- productive thoughts that are likely to be bothering you and often, overthinking is the result of a combination of issues that haven’t been fully analyzed. Over-thinking triggers worry – worry destroys your capacity to take and stick by your decisions. Over-thinking leads to increased circulation of blood throughout the brain and body – this leads to an Inability to relax, easily angered and always feeling something bad/wrong is going to happen.

 

Stop Overthinking. Negativity lives there!

 

What are the Symptoms and Signs of Overthinking and Anxiety –

  • You can’t sleep.
  • You self- medicate.
  • You’re always tired.
  • You want to control everything.
  • You obsess about failure.
  • You don’t trust your own judgement.
  • You get tension headaches.

 

 

How can you tackle them?

  • Awareness is the beginning of change.

 

 

Being aware of what’s happening inside and outside of you is necessary. People often tend to confuse between sadness and being depressed. If you know what’s going on with you, this means you’re sad and not depressed. So, on the primary importance talk to yourself, and find out what’s going wrong in the system. Any time you find yourself doubting or feeling stressed or anxious without any reason, step back and look at the moment on how you’re responding.

Awareness is the seed of the change you want to make!

 

  • Don’t think of what can go wrong but think of what can go right.

A single emotion, fear has the power to turn your most beautiful frames to disasters. If you’re focusing on all the negative things that might happen to you if you have actually made it easy for you to become paralyzed of the situation.  Just stop!

Visualize all those things that can go in your favour and look forward to a good time awaiting you!

 

 

  • Swirl yourself into happiness.

Being happy and spreading love and happiness will not only give you strength to fight but also the power to stand in those tough times. Be a happy yet dope soul. Spend time on things like meditation, in your hobbies and trust me, this will distance you from all those issues enough to get you mad.

 

  • Change your view of fear.

With deep fear comes deep anxiety. I have observed people being in fear about exams, about their interviews and you know what’s the only thing common in each and everyone? Prediction of the outcome even before the deed was done. Funny, isn’t it?

Remember every opportunity is a new beginning, a place to start again!

 

  • Accept your best.

Not accepting what you are capable of might lead you to unwanted destinations. The fear that grounds overthinking is often based on the feeling that you’re not good enough, or smart enough or hardworking enough. Once you’ve given an effort, accept it as look forward to the results. Don’t stress too much as the results are not in your control so why worry? You have already done what you could do.

Above given were the best five tips from my side and trust me, these have worked for me and will surely work for you as well provided you work.

Follow The Calling; Not The Crowd!

Hey there, people! Sorry was not able to put up any post due to my hectic schedule. Almost an end to this month as well so are you guys working on improving yourself? If not, start because it’s never too late.

 

 

Follow the calling, not the crowd. Yes, you heard it right! Intuition has always played the most decisive role in the making or breaking of an individual. It’s your intuition that can eventually take you to places but the only condition lies is the ability of the person to trust upon his gut feelings and accordingly produce the desired action. It is therefore very important to learn how to listen to and trust your gut.

The quirky urge, a funny tingle, that little voice in your head. These are your gut feelings talking to you but the question is, what are they telling you? Should you listen to them? And.. the answer is a BIG YES!

These messages which you get from inside can be just silent warnings or reminders and in retrospect, may be right or even wrong. But you must be wondering why I’m quoting a lesson on intuitions?

Probably in a year like 2018 where you have that freedom to turn up your passion into your business, you should know how much your intuitions will help you in raising the bar to generate more income than you could have ever earned. With n number of career options prevailing you must choose to act on the calling you’re destined for and not choose what everyone else is heading to.

You don’t have to worry about what others are planning to choose as their careers neither should you rely on anyone. Surround yourself with people who are so keen on expanding businesses, or in short be friends with the motivated ones. If you’re still unaware of your own self, it’s better to join some programs, talk to yourself and spend some quality time in figuring out what are you actually destined for. It’s the right time to begin the process!

Students out in stress about their career plans tend to follow someone else dreams. You don’t have to worry about what others are planning but rather you should focus your energy and time on realizing what you’re capable of doing and producing. Think about all the good times you want from your life. Believe me, life is very beautiful out there and yet challenging. You just have to wait for your turn and burn the bridge down.

I Am Nearly There..

Another day, another topic and I’m back with something great which will definitely help you in some way or the other. I just want to say a quick thank you from The Parallel Edit and Team to all of you who have been supporting and loving my work. You’ve literally changed my life!

 

 

Sometimes, It’s important to remind yourself from where have you started, how long do you have to go on your journey to achieve what you have always wanted and the resources you require to make sure you’re not occupied with stagnation on your path. It’s actually so easy to beat yourself up because you aren’t at the point where you were supposed to be exactly at the time when you started something fresh but trust me, that’s okay.

Like in the last blog post, I had mentioned about the individuals who attain excellent results in their initial months of training but what after 6 months or a year when all those approaches suddenly stop working? That’s where the real process starts.

This weekend I want all of you to focus your mind and energy on realising how far you have come and how close you really are. I want all of you to take a couple of hours free from your busy schedules and reflect on the fact, that how close you actually are on attaining that milestone you have always wished for, how much closer you’re now to your dreams than you were 5-10 years back.

I’m nearly there..

  • Just sit down for a while and think how can you improve. Aggregate thoughts, let them wander your mind for a while and find ways to better yourself in your day to day lifestyle.
  • Trust me, you’re actually just one or two steps away from grooving on to your path. One right decision can actually turn around things for you. Take your steps on the ladder very wisely.
  • You’re just a few steps away from getting everything sorted and lined up. It’s the time to blow the world with your ideas and talents.

After all those months of setbacks, failures, disappointments, messing up, lack of resources and capital to start my own business made me teach many a lesson which simply success and winning can never teach me. Nearly there.. is what I have always used as a mantra to get sorted when things weren’t right. I could actually feel it in my heart that I ain’t that far away.

 

 

I just want to conclude here by saying – Keep that craziness within you alive as this will fetch you many a place in your life. Find your 3 hobbies – one to make you money, one to keep you in shape and one to keep you creative!

Just Breathe!

Hey everyone. How are you all? I hope this year is off to a great start for you!

It’s very easy to join an exercise or gym initially when the progress is very quick when all your results happen to be fast but what after 6 months or a year when all your growth suddenly stops? That’s where the grown-ups are separated from the kids.

GYM, the basic necessity of the modern era, cravings for curves has set levels of competitions, trust me its same like cracking an IIT exam. Achieving the muscularity was never easy, you need to work on a lot many things before you start the journey.

  • MOTIVATION –

The motivation never comes easy, if it comes then it won’t be staying long, choosing the right method, trainer or influencer is important. Whether you’re looking to take home first place or just want to go faster than the person next to you on the treadmill, friendly competition has some major boosting power. So, a little friendly competition can definitely light a fire within you.

 

  • MINDSET –

Prepare your mind for the worst, muscles never come easy. When you focus on growth mindset, you embrace all the things that have felt threatening: challenge, criticism and setbacks. When you embrace the tough stuff, you open yourself to fully realize your potential and all that you can be. Instead, depending on the trainer, steroids you should focus on capabilities, strength and discover your own self. Workout with a proper mindset and with the thought that you have to break your own ‘HARD AND FAST RULES’. 

 

  • GOALS –

Goals, both long term and short term are necessary, not only setting a goal but accomplishing them also. Either gaining or losing short goals are basic while setting goals you need to be pragmatic.

Set your own benchmarks. The most important thing is to KNOW YOUR BODY. YOUR STRENGTHS, YOUR WEAKNESSES, YOUR CAPABILITIES, HOW MUCH YOU CAN PAIN YOUR BODY.

Like I always say, analyse and track your progress when in a gym and reward yourself for every achievement you attain. It all starts with a change in perspective. Shift your thinking from couch potato mentality to thinking like an athlete.

Though, it is not easy to just let go of something that you have been following since years. The growth mindset does not allow people to love what you are doing, making this physical activity as a part of life will be life-changing for you, accept it as a lifestyle, not as a burden or a forced job.

She was a premature baby, the twenty of the twenty-two children born to her parents, and a constantly sick child. At four years of age, she almost died of pneumonia, scarlet fever and POLIO. She almost lost hope of walking properly. Her positive mindset was that which changed her life upside down.

How To Stay Motivated During Your Exams!

Okay, so boards are around the corner. The clock is running faster than normal and it’s almost time to show your potential on the sheet but firstly, I just want to congratulate and say –  All the best to each and every one of you who are appearing in these board exams. Nervous? Confused? Happens!

 

 

Being senior to you and your elder brother, trust me this phase will actually show what you truly are. You’ll get to know yourself well, you’ll be able to communicate with yourself in a better way and those intuitions will definitely strike. You just got to listen to them, believe in them and work hard. Like I always say, focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses.

The time you get between your exams is actually very crucial so make sure you are utilising your time well. Your performance in the exam is directly proportional to what you feed your mind today. You might be a good performer in the whole semester but if you aren’t moving with a positive mental game, you’ll not be able to achieve the standards you have set for yourself. So, having a positive mindset is what you need to focus on apart from your studies.

 

 

I have always believed in this one simple principle – ‘The one who works hard will never experience failure.’ The one who expects way too much and doesn’t work up to the bar will never stand a place. So, it’s better to accept what you’re capable of doing, accept your mistakes and rather than leaving them, work on them and improve.

How to study effectively for the exams?

  1. With so much of competition prevailing in the Indian Education System, I have just one simple tip to offer – Meditate as much as you can and then sit for your studies. Don’t let the peer pressure affect your mindset. You don’t have to hurry, you don’t have to run fast as you may get down. Work and run at your own speed, don’t try to act smart and overtake. Believe in yourself, your hard work will determine your success rate.
  2. Time Management is what you have to work on. Not every exam will have 7 days off so prepare your schedule in such a way, that each topic gets sufficient time and priority.
  3. If you’re not a fast writer, practice writing when you’re studying. Eventually, it will help you to enhance your speed and make notes simultaneously will help you to learn fastly.
  4. You have to forget about the marks at this time, as this can build up stress in your head. Focus on working rather than stressing over.
  5. On the course of studying, we usually forget to get our hands on mastering the basics. If you have sufficient time, start with the basics first and then move onto the important topics.
  6. For some maths is really a tough subject to handle, and they plan to polish it at the end. However, it is you who will appear for the exam, whatever strategy you make, stick to it.

In the end, I just want to conclude by saying – Be a Self Motivator, nobody else is going to do that for you. Rather than stressing over, enjoy and work hard in this phase. Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something in you and that is greater than any obstacle.
